What we collect, and why.

EFFECTIVE 1 SEPTEMBER 2026 · THIS NOTICE EXPLAINS WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT WHEN YOU USE THE GUESSTIMATOR OR BUY A GUESSTIMATE, WHY WE COLLECT IT, AND WHAT HAPPENS TO IT.

Who we are

What we collect

1. Order details you give us at checkout: your name, email address, the property address you want guesstimated, and your payment details. Checkout is operated by Stripe, our payment processor; Stripe collects this information on our behalf under its own privacy rules (stripe.com/au/privacy). We never see your full card number.
2. Sign-in (optional): if you sign in with Google or GitHub to track your one-time first-address discount, our sign-in provider processes your account identity for that purpose.
3. Correspondence: if you email us, we receive what you send, including your email address.
4. Technical logs: when you visit, our hosting and security providers (including Cloudflare) process standard logs such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site up and safe.

We do not run advertising trackers. We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not collect sensitive information (health, biometrics and the like).

Why we collect it

To process and deliver your order, to answer enquiries, to keep records required by Australian tax and commercial law, and to keep the site secure.

What if you don't provide it

We cannot process an order or reply to an enquiry without the details listed above. Browsing the site requires nothing from you.

Who we share it with

Our payment processor (Stripe), our sign-in provider (when you use it), our email and hosting providers, and professional advisers or authorities where Australian law requires it.

Overseas disclosure

Our providers operate globally. Personal information is likely to be processed in the United States and in other countries where Stripe, Google and Cloudflare (our main providers) run their systems.

How long we keep it

Order and tax records: as long as Australian law requires (generally five years). Enquiries: as long as needed to handle them, then deleted.

Your choices

You can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time: [email protected]. We will handle reasonable requests promptly.
